The Charlie Parker Jazz Festival is one of New York's historically rich summer jazz events. The festival embraces the philosophy of Charlie Parker, the creator of Bebop, a new jazz genre born as a rebellion against commercialism and materialism. Bebop is defined by its fast tempos and improvisational performances, reminiscent of birds in flight, and carries a mission to protect the unique culture of African Americans by making it elusive to replicate or appropriate.

Bebop is crafted through the layered improvisations of various instruments, and when experienced with closed eyes, the quirky harmony of each instrument becomes even more vivid. Symbols representing the sounds of each instrument were likened to elements of nature, evoking the vibrant essence of summer jazz. To capture the elegant rhythm of jazz, icons and typography were arranged with fluidity and flexibility.
